Canadian Pacific’s Holiday Train is set to make a return to Illinois this holiday season, with four stops scheduled. The much-loved holiday tradition, known for its bright light display, live music, and special appearance by Santa Claus, will bring joy and festive cheer to communities across the state.
Starting its tour of Canada and the United States on November 20, the CPKC Holiday Train will continue spreading holiday spirit until December 19. The first stop in Illinois is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, in Bensenville. This will be followed by stops in Pingree Grove, Byron, and Gurnee. Each stop on the tour will feature 30 minutes of live musical performances by well-known artists.
Not only does the Holiday Train bring joy to communities, but it also serves a greater purpose. The annual tour raises funds for food banks in both the U.S. and Canada, with donations collected for local charities. Since its inception in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised an impressive $22.5 million and more than five million pounds of food for community food banks across North America.
The Illinois stops of the Holiday Train will feature a lineup of talented musicians. Seaforth, a country music duo from Australia consisting of Tom Jordan and Mitch Thompson, will grace the stage at all four stops. Joining them will be Kiesza, a Canadian singer-songwriter known for her dynamic music career and the hit single 'Hideaway' in 2014.
In addition, Tenille Townes, a Canadian country music singer, and Breland, an American singer, songwriter, and record producer known for his unique blend of country rap, R&B, gospel, and soul music, will be performing at the Gurnee stop on December 3.
The Holiday Train not only entertains but also gives back to the communities it visits. At each stop, CPKC makes a donation to a local food pantry and encourages attendees to contribute as well. It truly is a festive event that brings people together while supporting a great cause.
Don't miss the opportunity to experience the magic of the Holiday Train as it makes its way through Illinois. Mark your calendars for the scheduled stops in Bensenville, Pingree Grove, Byron, and Gurnee. Come and enjoy the live music, dazzling light display, and the chance to help those in need during this special time of year.
