Logan County responsible for 34th-highest sales tax revenue in Illinois during February

Logan County taxpayers paid the 34th largest sum in sales taxes in February, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, Logan County residents paid $454,901 in sales taxes during February.

Logan County ranked 28th in the Prairie State the month before, with $709,538 spent in sales taxes.

The County School Facility Tax accounted for the largest share of sales taxes paid by Logan County residents in February.

Illinois is currently the highest taxed state in the US. A study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 39.83% higher than the national average.

Illinois governor J. B. Pritzker is accused of adding more than $5.2 billion in new or higher taxes since coming into power in early 2019. As a business owner, he has a fortune of more than $3 billion, largely based on his family's wealth and connections.
