Village of Greenview Village Board met May 6

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Greenview Village Board met for a regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, May 6, 2024. President Kevin Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all present participated in the pledge of allegiance. The roll call indicated that Trustees Jamie Booth, Norman Hofmann, Liz Soldwedel, and Pamela Rouse were present. Other village personnel present was John Holt. 

Public Participation: None.

President Curry gave the maintenance report. A motion was made by Trustee Rouse and seconded by Trustee Hofmann to approve the report as presented. All present in favor voted aye. Report filed into record. 

John Holt gave the police report. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Booth to approve the report as presented. All present in favor voted aye. Report filed into record. 

John Holt gave the treasurer’s report. A motion was made by Trustee Booth and seconded by Trustee Soldwedel to approve the report as presented. All present in favor voted aye. Report filed into record. 

John Holt gave the zoning report. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Rouse to approve the report as presented. All present in favor voted aye. Report filed into record. 

The minutes from April 15, 2024, board meeting was reviewed by each board member. A motion was made by Trustee Booth and seconded by Trustee Hofmann to approve the minutes. Minutes approved and filed into record. 

Income/Expense/Bill Report Each board member reviewed the bills. A motion was made by Trustee Booth and seconded by Trustee Rouse to approve the payment of all bills. Motion was roll called, all present in favor voted aye. Motion passed.

Old Business- None

New Business- 

A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Rouse to accept the bid from James Wilson to tear off and install a metal roof with rubber top in the amount of $5500.00. Motion was roll called, all present in favor voted aye. Motion carried. 

Discussion on proposed sale of village property located on Tonica Street. A motion was made by Trustee Soldwedel and seconded by Trustee Rouse to establish a minimum bid of $8500.00, with village right of refusal and to be published with legal description and bid requirements. Motion was roll called, all present in favor voted aye. Motion passed. 

Discussion was had to purchase a new concrete saw for the maintenance department. A motion was made by Trustee Booth and seconded by Trustee Soldwedel to purchase a Stihl TS420 cut off saw in the amount of $1150.00. Motion was roll called, all present in favor voted aye. Motion carried.   

Committee Reports:

Trustee Feagans:  Absent.

Trustee Hofmann:  Updated the board on bulk water. 

Trustee Soldwedel:  None. 

Trustee Booth: None.

Trustee Smith:  Absent.

Trustee Rouse:  A-Team disposal will conduct bulk item pickup on Monday, May 13th. Items must be at the curb on Sunday May 12th to qualify for pickup. A list of non-acceptable items was given and will be published on the Village of Greenview website and Facebook page.  

Treasurer:  None. 

Clerk:  Absent. 

President: Discussed repainting of well houses and updated the board on sewer project. To advise the attorney that the Village is not interested in accepting the donation of the Poynter property located on Washington Street; IDOT sewer repair on Jefferson St & Rt 29 is forthcoming; attended CIA meeting; Citizen of the year nomination criteria will be published soon; Village Hall broken window replacement is also forthcoming. 

President Curry read resignation letter from Trustee Hofmann, effective Monday, May 6, 2024. Motion was made by Trustee Rouse and seconded by Trustee Booth to accept the resignation of Trustee Hofmann. Motion carried. 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00pm.

At the conclusion of all business, the announcement of the next meeting was made. The next meeting will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at 7:00 pm.
