The Illinois College women's soccer team secured a 2-0 victory over Principia on Thursday at the Principia Soccer Field, maintaining their unbeaten streak.

The win advanced Illinois College to a 2-0-1 record for the season, while Principia fell to 0-2.

Playing their second match in two nights, the Lady Blues showed little signs of fatigue, outshooting Principia 36-1. Senior Kayla Serpa opened the scoring with her first goal of the season at the 39:43 mark. Freshman Holly Morehart closed out the scoring with her first collegiate goal at the 52:35 mark of the second half.

The Lady Blues consistently pressured the Panther goal throughout the night. Haley Sommer led with ten shots, followed by Erin O'Connell with six and Olivia Ralston with four.

Illinois College's goalkeepers faced only one shot during the match and achieved a combined shutout. Sophia Kriegesmann started in goal and kept a clean sheet in the first half, while Stella Gonzalez took over in the second half to complete the shutout.

Illinois College had fourteen different players record shots in the match. Principia's lone shot came at the 81:34 mark of the contest.

The Lady Blues will continue their road games as they travel to Blackburn on Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. contest in Carlinville, Ill.
