The Illinois College women's tennis team secured two Midwest Conference dual match victories on Saturday at the Bellatti Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Illinois.
The Lady Blues began their day with a 6-1 win over Ripon and later achieved a 5-2 victory against Lawrence. These wins improved the team's overall record to 10-4 and their conference record to 2-2.
In the first match against Ripon, Illinois College won two out of three doubles matches, earning the opening point. Victories came from Alyssa Wise and Sophie Muir (No. 1) and Michelle Maag and Lily Ingram (No. 2). In singles play, the team won five out of six matches with wins from Wise (No. 1), Muir (No. 3), Lily Ingram (No. 4), Madison Eastin (No. 5), and Sabrina Ingram (No. 6).
In the afternoon match against Lawrence, Illinois College again earned the doubles point with wins from Wise and Muir (No. 1) and Maag and Lily Ingram (No. 2). Although Lawrence claimed victories in both No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches, Illinois College secured wins in slots No. 3 through No. 6, thanks to Muir, Lily Ingram, Eastin, and Sabrina Ingram.
Looking ahead, Illinois College will travel to Monmouth on Wednesday for another Midwest Conference match starting at 4:00 p.m.
