The Illinois College women's tennis team faced a challenging match against Lake Forest, resulting in a narrow 4-3 defeat on Saturday at the Bellatti Tennis Complex. This Midwest Conference loss brought Illinois College's record to 11-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play. Meanwhile, Lake Forest maintained its unbeaten streak with an 8-0 overall record and 4-0 in conference matches.

The decisive moment of the match came during the doubles competition. Despite Illinois College's victory at No. 3 doubles by Madison Eastin and Chloe Plough, Lake Forest secured the crucial doubles point. The teams then split the six singles matches, with Illinois College claiming wins from Lily Ingram at No. 4, Madison Eastin at No. 5, and Sabrina Ingram at No. 6.

Looking ahead, the Lady Blues are set to travel to Greenville for a non-conference match on Monday, with the first serve scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
