Illinois College trails Grinnell after first round at SLIAC Championship

The Illinois College women's golf team commenced the 2024 SLIAC Conference Championship in a promising position, securing second place after the first round. The team posted a score of 333, trailing Grinnell College by 37 shots, who led with an impressive 296.

Kate Burr was the top performer for Illinois College, recording an opening round of 77 and tying for fourth place as they head into the second round. Shelby Seiler finished with a score of 82, placing her in 11th position.

Additional scores for the Lady Blues included Katie Mae Milhiser's 85 and Hannah Harpster's round of 89, contributing to the team's overall performance.

As they approach the second round, Illinois College is behind Grinnell but leads Lake Forest by two shots. Kate Burr is seven shots behind Grinnell's Vidushi Keni, who topped the leaderboard with a remarkable opening round of 70 (-2).
