Illinois College women's soccer team starts conference season with consecutive draws

Two conference matches have resulted in draws for the Illinois College women's soccer team. The latest match against Knox ended in a scoreless draw at Jorge Prats Field on Tuesday.

The draw brings Illinois College's record to 8-2-3 overall and 0-0-2 in Midwest Conference play, while Knox stands at 1-9-1 and 0-2-1.

During the match, Illinois College dominated offensively, out-shooting Knox 16 to 5. They also held an advantage with eight shots on goal compared to Knox's three. Haley Sommer and Olivia Ralston led the attack for Illinois College with five shots each, with Sommer landing three on target. Holly Morehart contributed two additional shots.

Sophia Kriegesmann played the entire match as goalkeeper for Illinois College, making three saves.

Next up, the Lady Blues will host Grinnell at England Stadium on Saturday in another Midwest Conference match scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.
