The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced its weekly award winners for men's and women's golf, with Illinois College (IC) athletes sweeping the honors. Jarrret James and Olivia Quigley were named Players of the Week.
James achieved his best round this fall by shooting a 70 at the IC Fall Preview. He outperformed a field of 54 players, including competitors from two other conference programs. James scored a two-under 70, recording five birdies during the round. His performance helped the Blueboys secure first place out of ten teams with a team score of 291.
Sophomore Olivia Quigley also delivered a career-best performance at the IC Preview, shooting an 81 in the one-round event and tying for first place among 31 golfers. Quigley improved her game on the back nine, reducing three strokes from her front nine score. She made seven pars on the final nine holes, contributing to IC's second-place team finish.
The women's golf team is set to compete in the IWU Invite on Saturday, September 17th, and Sunday, September 18th. Meanwhile, the men's team will participate in the Blackburn College Invite on Thursday, September 22nd at 11:00 AM.
