Grinnell leads SLIAC women's golf preseason poll; Illinois ranked second

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the results of their preseason poll, placing the Illinois College Lady Blues in second position with 109 points and one first-place vote. The Grinnell College Pioneers have been predicted to take first place this season, receiving 121 points. Grinnell is a four-time defending champion in the league and returns seven players from last year's team, including player of the year Kavya Keshav.

Last season, the Lady Blues finished second in the conference tournament. This year, they return eight student-athletes, three of whom were named All-Conference: Kate Burr, Alyvia Burr, and Amy Fowler. These players are expected to lead the team under Head Coach Josh Edison, who is entering his second season.

Illinois College will begin their season on September 1st and 2nd by participating in the Highland Championship hosted by Augustana College.

2. Illinois College - 109 points

3. Lake Forest College - 100 points

4. Spalding College - 86 points

5. MUW - 68 points

6. Fontbonne University - 62 points

7. Lyon College - 57 points

8. Monmouth College - 47 points

9. Eureka College - 44 points

10. Blackburn College - 39 points

11. Westminster College - 36 points

12. Knox College - 23 points
