Illinois College women's golf finishes strong at Washington University Invite

The Illinois College women's golf team completed their participation in the Washington University Invite on Sunday. The two-day event took place at Crescent Farms Golf Course in St. Louis, Missouri. On the first day, the Lady Blues achieved a team score of 357, which they improved to 354 on the second day. Throughout the tournament, they accumulated a total of 45 pars and five birdies.

During the opening round, Alyvia Burr led the team with an 11-over par score of 83, shooting two-over par on her final nine holes. Burr's performance included five pars and two birdies on holes one and four.

Katie Mae Milhiser recorded the second-lowest score for Illinois College that day with an 89. Her round featured three pars and a birdie on the par-three third hole. First-year player Shelby Seiler finished with a score of 90, including five pars.

Hannah Harpster and Emily Guest also contributed to the team's scores with rounds of 95 and 100 respectively. Harpster achieved four pars while Guest had two during their initial rounds.

On the second day, Burr again led Illinois College with another round of 83, achieving six pars and two birdies on holes nine and fifteen. Milhiser improved by four strokes from her previous day's performance, finishing with an 85 and leading her team with seven pars.

Harpster also bettered her first-day score by four strokes, ending with a final round of 91 that included five pars and seven bogeys. Rounding out Illinois College's performance were Guest and Seiler with scores of 95 and 104 respectively; Guest managed to secure five pars.

The Lady Blues will take a break before hosting the Country Club Classic at Jacksonville Country Club on Monday, April 8 at 8:00 AM.
