Lady Blues conclude season at Take Back the Night Challenge

The Illinois College women's golf team concluded their 2023-24 season by participating in the Take Back the Night Challenge tournament hosted by Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. The two-day event saw three Lady Blues athletes competing as individuals across two different courses: South Side Country Club and Red Tail Run Golf Course.

On the first day at South Side Country Club, Hannah Harpster led the team with a 10-over par score of 82. She began her round on hole 11 with a par, followed by a birdie on the par-3 12th hole. Her performance included nine pars, five bogeys, three double-bogeys, and one birdie.

Alyvia Burr finished just behind Harpster with an 11-over par score of 83. Burr started on the par-3 12th hole with a par and secured a birdie on another par-3 later in her round. She ended her day with seven pars and nine bogeys.

Katie Mae Milhiser completed the first round for Illinois College with a score of 90. Starting on hole 10, she recorded four pars and eleven bogeys during her round.

The final round took place at Red Tail Run Golf Course where Milhiser improved her score by five strokes from the previous day to finish with an overall score of 85. Her performance included six pars, ten bogeys, and one birdie, tying for 31st place overall in the tournament with a total score of 175.

Harpster continued to perform well on day two, shooting a 14-over score of 86 to finish tied for 22nd overall with a tournament total of 168. Her final round included back-to-back pars to start and a birdie putt on hole three.

Burr's final round was marked by five pars, including three consecutive ones between holes five through seven. She completed the tournament tied for 36th place overall with a total score of 177 after finishing her last round with a score of 94.

This tournament marked the end of the season for the Lady Blues golf team.
