The Illinois College men's and women's track and field teams participated in the Greenville Select Meet held in Greenville, Illinois. The men's team achieved a tie for fifth place, while the women's team secured fourth place overall.
For the Blueboys, Saul Hernandez led by securing second place in the shot put with a mark of 43' 11.75" (13.40 meters). Other notable performances included Deon Rodgers, who placed third in both the shot put (43' 11.75", 13.20 meters) and discus (143' 3", 43.67 meters), as well as Xander Moushon, who finished fourth in the hammer throw (141' 4", 43.08 meters).
On the women's side, Kristina Hilmes stood out by finishing third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:12.29. Additional significant results came from Maddie Benson, who placed fourth in pole vaulting (9' 5.25", 2.88 meters), Nyasia Young, who was fourth in triple jump (35' 3", 10.74 meters), Carson Beyers, who also finished fourth in javelin (93' 4", 28.44 meters), and the team's performance in the 4x100 meter relay which earned them a fourth-place finish with a time of 50.34 seconds.
Both teams are set to compete next at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet on Friday at 4:30 PM.
