The Illinois College men's soccer team secured a decisive 5-0 victory against Eureka College on Saturday. This win improved their season record to 4-3-1. A significant highlight of the match was Tyler Schiltz breaking the All-Time scoring record for career goals, achieving his 22nd goal.
Albert Nimako initiated the scoring in the 10th minute with a header, assisted by Reed Rogers. Shortly after, Tyler Lunning scored another goal, again assisted by Rogers. Schiltz then tied the All-Time scoring record with his 21st career goal in the 26th minute, giving IC a comfortable 3-0 lead at halftime.
Early in the second half, Schiltz set a new record with his 22nd career goal, extending IC's lead to 4-0. Eric Espinoza capped off the day's scoring with a powerful shot from outside the box in the 84th minute.
Goalkeeper TJ Esseily played for most of the match before Jaden Klopp made his debut for IC in the final minutes. Both recorded one save each during this shutout victory.
The Blueboys are scheduled to face Webster University on Tuesday, September 19 at St. Louis, Missouri.
