The Midwest Conference (MWC) has announced its Preseason Coaches Poll for the 2022 cross-country season. The Illinois College Lady Blues are projected to finish in seventh place, having received 20 points.

Lawrence University is favored to win the league this year, earning 63 points and seven first-place votes. Last season, Lawrence secured the conference title for the first time in two decades, with Grinnell finishing as runner-up.

The Lady Blues aim to improve on their previous performance by bringing back several student-athletes to the team.

Illinois College will begin their season on Thursday, September 1st at the Titan Opener, starting at 6:15 PM.

The full results of the 2022 MWC Women's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll are as follows:

1. Lawrence University (7) – 63 points

2. Grinnell College (2) – 57 points

3. Ripon College – 50 points

4. Cornell College – 44 points

5. Monmouth College – 33 points

6. Lake Forest College – 27 points

7. Illinois College – 20 points

8. Beloit College – 17 points

9. Knox College – 13 points
