The Illinois College men's tennis team faced off against the Eagles of Illinois Valley Community College in a closely contested dual match at Bellatti Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Illinois. Despite a strong effort, the Blueboys narrowly lost with a final score of 4-5.

In doubles play, the Blueboys managed to secure one victory out of three matches. The No. 2 doubles pair, identical twins Grayson Dupre and Andrus Dupre from Arkansas, dominated their opponents with an 8-1 win. However, Antonio Loaiza and Allen Oakley fell short in the No. 3 doubles match with a score of 3-8.

The singles matches saw four out of six going into tiebreakers. In the No. 1 singles match, Jeff Wernsing won his first set 6-4 but lost the second set 3-6, leading to a tiebreaker where he was defeated with a score of 6-10.

Glenn Conway claimed victory in the No. 2 singles match after winning his opening set 6-4 and losing a tight second set 6-7. He then dominated the tiebreaker with a decisive 5-0 win.

Andrus Dupre excelled in his singles match by defeating his opponent in straight sets with scores of 6-2 and 6-0.

Allen Oakley rebounded from losing his first set to win the second set at No. 5 singles with a score of 6-3, forcing another tiebreaker which he clinched with a late rally for a final score of 10-8.

The intense battle between Momir Vickovic and Logan Goetsch at No. 6 singles concluded after Vickovic's initial success with a first-set victory of 6-3 was overturned by Goetsch's comeback to win the second set and ultimately triumphing in the tiebreaker set by scoring early for a final result of Vickovic losing at zero to three.

Looking ahead, Illinois College will begin their Midwest Conference play against Grinnell College on April 6 at Grinnell, Iowa.
