The Illinois College men's track and field team celebrated victories at the True Blue Open held in Jacksonville, Illinois. Freshmen athletes Dylan Doss and Adam Hernandez secured titles for the Blueboys on Saturday at the Ware Family Track.
Dylan Doss emerged victorious in the 100 meters, clocking a time of 10.76 seconds. He also claimed second place in the 200 meters with a time of 21.75 seconds.
Adam Hernandez, who was recently named Midwest Conference Track Performer of the Week, won the 110 meter hurdles by finishing in 15.57 seconds. Austin Robinson also performed well in this event, securing fourth place with a time of 16.09 seconds.
In field events, Deon Rodgers achieved third place in the discus throw with a distance of 41.53 meters. Xander Moushon finished fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 48.69 meters, while Caden Dettmer placed fifth in the javelin throw with a distance of 39.11 meters.
The Blueboys will compete again on Saturday at the Greenville Select meet, starting at 10:30 a.m.
