In a commanding display, Illinois College Esports, led by Timothy Blackwell, secured a 2-0 victory against Minnesota State University in their season opener. The matches lasted approximately 25 minutes each, showcasing IC's strong start to the season.

Tristan Fissette was instrumental in the team's success, executing strategic plays with Leona in the second game and aiding Christian Varacalli and his teammates from the support position. The team executed a precise strategy in game two, preventing their opponents from securing objectives and concluding with Ethan Elmore achieving a triple kill to clinch the series. David Thompson contributed significantly by employing an unconventional choice, Singed, leaving little opportunity for Minnesota State to respond.

Illinois College Esports will continue their campaign next week when CSL announces the schedule for the second week of matches. Updates regarding scheduling will be available on the Esports Twitter feed.
