The Illinois College esports team faced UC San Diego in their second game of the summer schedule on Thursday, suffering a 0-2 defeat.

In the first game, Illinois College initially took a significant lead. The team was led by Drake Farster playing as Hecarim and Justin White as Karma. However, UC San Diego managed to turn the game around after a crucial dragon fight, securing victory in the first round.

During the second game, Illinois College found another opportunity with a triple kill by Drake Farster using Olaf. Despite this advantage, an overstay before their fourth dragon allowed UC San Diego to make key plays, leading to their ultimate win.

Illinois College is set to compete against Cafe 3 Crossroads next Thursday at 7:00 PM. This amateur team includes two former Challenger players.
