The Midwest Conference has announced its preseason poll for men's cross country, with Illinois College projected to finish fifth. The Blueboys received 34 points in the ranking.
Grinnell College is predicted to lead the season, securing 59 points and five first-place votes. Illinois College's team includes two All-Conference athletes, Devin Boggs and Elgin Scherff. At last year's MWC Championships, Boggs finished 10th with a time of 26:33.99, setting a school record for Illinois College in the event. Scherff completed the race in 17th place with a time of 27:03.09.
The Blueboys are under the guidance of new Head Coach Anthony Flores. Their season begins on September 1 at the H.W. Wright Classic hosted by Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois.
