Illinois College announces Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society's 2021 induction class

Illinois College Athletics has announced the 2021 inductees into the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society. This organization, unique in its mission, honors college student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically.

To be eligible for induction into Chi Alpha Sigma, student-athletes must earn a varsity letter in their sport, reach junior academic standing or higher after five full-time semesters, and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or higher. This year, Illinois College recognized 37 student-athletes from 15 varsity sports with this distinction.

The inductees include athletes from various sports disciplines:

In baseball, Cade Henneman, James Marcinkowski, Peyton Phillis, and Dart Todd were honored. Autumn Hobrock was recognized for dance. Esports honorees included Timothy Blackwell and Jiaqi Lu.

From football, Christian Hernandez, Kyle Siebenshuh, and Nicholas Thurston were inducted. Men's basketball saw Hunter Ottensmeier, Steven Price, and Hunter Stockton honored. Colin Gwillim and Christian Lopez were recognized from men's soccer.

Men's swim had Kaden Canales and Davide Sanna inducted while men's tennis included Senaf Fayissa, Muhammad Kamal, and Shizuru Koshikawa among the honorees.

In softball, AnnaBeth Batson received recognition. Women's basketball inductees were Kendra Bass, Annamarie Billingsley, Sydney Himmelman, Samantha Lordan, Megan Price, and Madison Schoenfeld.

Katherine Elmore and Abby Isham were honored from women's soccer. In women's swim team members Kate Edelstein along with Donna Jenkins joined Abby Isham as inductees.

Sophia Roth represented women's tennis among the honorees while Elizabeth Bowns led the group of Olivia Frichtl alongside Olivia Molette including Emily Woods in women's track and field who also earned this recognition. Madisyn Webster rounded out the list representing women's volleyball as an inductee.

Chi Alpha Sigma remains dedicated to acknowledging the achievements of student-athletes who balance their commitment to athletics with academic excellence.
