Nathen Trachta stood out for the Illinois College men's swimming team at the Monmouth Invite on Saturday, securing two victories. The Blueboys achieved a third-place finish in a highly competitive field.
Trachta clinched titles in both the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.99 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:20.22. Eli Eberle contributed with second-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (54.63) and the 100-yard freestyle (50.56). John Masiliunas took third place in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking in at 59.79.
The team's relay efforts also saw success, with two teams finishing third. The 400-yard freestyle relay team, consisting of Tim DeYong, Scott Sosnowski, Eberle, and Trachta, completed their race in 3:32.68. Another team featuring Masiliunas, Cooper Meyer, Eberle, and Trachta finished the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.18.
Cooper Meyer also secured a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:06.61.
Looking ahead, Illinois College will host Monmouth on November 9th at an event starting at 11:00 a.m.
