District 186 has been active on social media, sharing updates and achievements with its community. On September 30, the district highlighted the Jimmy John's Student of the Month program, which acknowledges exceptional students by awarding them a certificate and a complimentary sandwich as recognition for their efforts both academically and within the community. "A huge shoutout to Jimmy John's Student of the Month program which allows us to recognize outstanding students w/ a certificate & a free sandwich as a reward for their hard work in school & as citizens in our community!"

On the same day, District 186 reminded parents and guardians about an impending deadline for submitting student physicals and immunization records in accordance with state guidelines and district policy. The district warned that students who fail to provide the necessary health information would be excluded from school starting October 1st. "We are approaching the deadline for students to have their physical & immunization info turned in per state guidelines & school district policy. Please turn in your paperwork! Students failing to provide required health information will be excluded from school starting Oct. 1st."

In sports news, District 186 celebrated a significant victory on October 5 when their team, referred to as "our Senators," triumphed over the Jacksonville Crimsons with a score of 36-29 after an intense match. This win was shared enthusiastically with symbols representing school spirit alongside hashtags celebrating homecoming week. "In a nail-biting showdown against the Jacksonville Crimsons, the game went down to the wire, but our Senators rose to the challenge, securing a hard-fought 36-29 victory!"
