State Representatives Mike Coffey and Wayne Rosenthal are organizing a holiday toy drive in collaboration with Toys for Tots. The initiative aims to support children in need by collecting new unwrapped toys at their district office in Springfield, Illinois, until December 20th. Community members can also request pick-up services by contacting the representatives' office.

"Children deserve to have a special Christmas, and the excitement of unwrapping gifts is one thing they always remember," stated Representative Coffey. "We are collecting gifts to put a smile on a child’s face and let them know that someone is thinking of them on Christmas."

Representative Rosenthal added, "Toys for Tots is an excellent program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, and we want to help them achieve their goals this year. A small gift can make Christmas special for children in need and I’m grateful to contribute to a great cause."

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation was established in 1991 by the U.S. Marine Corps. It focuses on raising funds, purchasing toys, educating the public, and managing daily operations with the mission of providing hope to disadvantaged children during the Christmas holiday.
