The Lady Blues faced a setback in their non-conference game against Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) on Saturday, losing 63-58. This result brought their season record to 2-4, while IIT celebrated their first win, moving to 1-3.
After the first quarter ended in a tie at 13-13, the Lady Blues experienced a significant scoring drought, lasting nearly 14 minutes without a field goal. Despite trailing by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter, Anna McKee made notable contributions with crucial three-pointers and led her team with 15 points. However, it was not enough to secure a victory over IIT.
The Lady Blues concluded the game with a shooting percentage of 25.4% from the field and 18.2% from beyond the arc. In contrast, IIT managed to shoot at 43.6% from the field. Both teams had difficulties with three-point shots, combining for just seven successful attempts out of 42.
Ashlyn Wightman recorded another double-double performance with ten points and twelve rebounds. Raegen Stringer contributed significantly as well, finishing with thirteen points, eight rebounds, six steals, and four assists.
Looking ahead, the Lady Blues are scheduled to play another non-conference game against Aurora University on Tuesday, November 26th at 7:00 p.m.
