Nikki Budzinski, a U.S. Congress representative for Illinois' 13th district since 2023, shared several reflections and congratulations on her social media account. The congresswoman has been serving in the position following Rodney Davis's tenure and resides in Springfield, Illinois.

On December 6, 2024, Budzinski commemorated the ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment with a call to reflect on its significance. She stated: "159 years ago, the Thirteenth Amendment was ratified, abolishing slavery in the United States. Today, let's reflect on this dark chapter of our history and recommit to building a nation that protects the rights and freedoms of all its people."

Later that day, she congratulated a local sports team for their achievement. Her post read: "Congratulations to the Belleville Althoff Crusaders for winning the 1A State Championship and to running back Dierre Hill on being named the 2024 Illinois Gatorade player of the year! What an incredible accomplishment!"

The following day, December 7, Budzinski paid tribute to servicemembers who perished at Pearl Harbor. She remarked: "December 7, 1941, changed our nation's history forever. Today, join me in honoring the 2,300 servicemembers who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor and remembering the countless others who volunteered to fight for our country in the days that followed."
