On December 11, 2024, Budzinski highlighted a significant step towards alleviating flooding problems in Metro East communities. She stated, "For decades, Metro East communities have been plagued by regular flooding without an end in sight. This week, I was proud to help pass the 2024 Water Resources Development Act to bring us one step closer to critical solutions like the Spring Lake Project."
The following day on December 12, she celebrated athletic achievements from her district by acknowledging two state champion football teams. She expressed her congratulations on social media: "Today, I spoke on the House floor to celebrate TWO state champion football teams from #IL13 - the East St. Louis Flyers and the Belleville Althoff Crusaders!
