The Illinois College women's swimming and diving team faced challenges in their recent competition at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Illinois. On Friday, they competed in a double dual meet but were unable to secure victories against their opponents.
The Lady Blues lost to Millikin University with a score of 90-78 and also fell short against Illinois Wesleyan University, with a final score of 141-50. Despite the overall results, there were notable performances from the team members.
Julie Edwards achieved the team's only victory by winning the 100-yard breaststroke event with a time of 1:16.46. Another commendable performance came from Abbey Glaser, who finished second in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 20:28.74.
Looking ahead, Illinois College will compete again next Saturday at Monmouth College. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
