The Illinois College men's basketball team secured a victory against Lake Forest with a score of 81-75 at Sherman Gymnasium in Jacksonville, Illinois. This win brings the Blueboys to an overall record of 12-5 and 5-3 in conference play, while Lake Forest falls to 6-10 and 3-4.

The game began with IC taking an early lead by scoring the first six points. Although Lake Forest briefly led at 28-27 with just over seven minutes left in the first half, IC responded with a 6-0 run. By halftime, the Blueboys had extended their lead to 47-41.

In the second half, IC maintained control for nine minutes before Lake Forest's successful three-point shots pushed them ahead to a 65-51 lead. However, Nick Doroskin's crucial three-pointer helped IC regain a lead they would maintain until the end of the game. The Blueboys' advantage grew to as much as seven points in the final minutes.

Buzz Ritzel led IC with a game-high of 20 points. Seth Doss contributed a career-high of 16 points and eight rebounds. Javonte McKenzie added 13 points and topped IC's rebounding efforts with nine boards. Doroskin also achieved a personal best by scoring 13 points off the bench.

IC played without Josh Harris, their second-leading scorer, due to injury. Despite this setback, they have won 44 out of their last 54 games and dominated Midwest Conference contests by winning 33 out of their previous 40 games. Notably, this was only their second home game in nine matches.

Looking ahead, IC will host Beloit next Saturday at Sherman Gymnasium for another Midwest Conference contest scheduled for a tip-off at 3:00 p.m.
