The Illinois College Esports team faced a formidable opponent on Wednesday night, succumbing to Coe College with a 4-0 loss in the MVEC Overwatch competition. This result leaves Illinois College with a 1-3 record in the current season.

In the first game on the control map Oasis, Coe College secured a 2-0 victory. The second game on the escort map Dorado ended with Coe winning 1-0. The third match, played on the push map Colosseo, saw Coe triumphing again with a score of 3-0. Finally, on the clash map Throne of Anubis, Coe dominated with a 5-1 win.

Dwight Duijneveld was notable for his performance, achieving six eliminations during the matches. However, Coe College maintained control throughout all games. Illinois College concluded the night with ten eliminations and 95 deaths, resulting in a kill-death ratio of .10.

Match statistics reveal that Carter Naeve managed two eliminations and five assists while suffering fourteen deaths. Dwight Duijneveld had six eliminations and four assists but died nineteen times. Lucas Schultz recorded no eliminations and three assists against twenty-six deaths. Theo Biela achieved two eliminations and two assists while dying eighteen times, and Bunni Little had no eliminations or assists with eighteen deaths.

Looking ahead, Illinois College's Overwatch team is scheduled to compete against Buena Vista University on Wednesday, February 19th at 7:00 pm.
