Illinois College's Overwatch 2 team achieved a decisive victory against Bridgewater College in their recent MEC match, sweeping the series with a 3-0 win. This marked the team's first MEC OW2 match of the new season after concluding a 5-6 fall season.

The series began with Illinois College securing a narrow 2-1 victory on the Control map Nepal. Despite conceding one point, they maintained their composure to clinch the win. The second game saw IC's defense shine on the Hybrid map Numbani, where they completed a full hold for a 1-0 triumph. Their strong defensive play was crucial to their success.

In the final game on the Push map Colosseo, Illinois College won 3-1. Although initially competitive, IC's success in key team fights allowed them to push to Bridgewater's spawn and secure victory.

Match statistics highlighted notable performances from players like Lucas Schultz, who had an impressive KDA of 13.50 with significant damage done and zero healing required. Other players also contributed significantly across various metrics.

The team is set to compete again on Wednesday, February 19th against Buena Vista in an MVEC match starting at 7:00 p.m.
