The Illinois College women's swimming team achieved significant milestones during the second day of the 2025 Midwest Conference Championships held at the Russell K. Osgood Pool and Deck/Natatorium in Grinnell, Iowa.
Abby Stevens set a new school record in the 500-yard freestyle during the morning preliminary session with a time of 5:28.76. Later in the evening, she improved her own record by three seconds, finishing with a time of 5:25.85.
Jena Sellers also made notable achievements by recording the third-fastest time in program history for the 50-yard freestyle twice on Friday. She initially clocked a time of 25.36 seconds in the morning and then improved to 25.26 seconds during the evening session.
The championships will continue tomorrow as scheduled.
