Illinois House Republicans have outlined their primary objectives for the Fiscal Year 2026 State Budget. The priorities focus on economic growth, cost reduction, and avoiding tax increases.

The group aims to stimulate economic growth through reform and sound policy. They also emphasize reducing costs by enhancing agency efficiencies and implementing structural reforms. Additionally, they are committed to opposing any tax increases.

State spending has increased significantly under Governor Pritzker since he assumed office in 2019. At that time, state expenditures were $40.3 billion. Since then, the budget has grown by $15 billion. According to the Republicans, this overspending affects families across Illinois. They propose solutions aimed at reforming policies to advance the state and reduce living costs.
