Auditorium Stage Rigging
The stage rigging has been chained up and made safe for performances and district use. Schuler Shook, a theater design group was onsite on December 2, 2024 to begin putting a scope of work together. We anticipate the project to be publicly bid by early 2025.
GHS Track Replacement
A punch list visit was attended by athletics, facilities, Graham and Hyde Architects and Byrne and Jones (B&J) on November 14, 2024. B&J has agreed to replace approximately 150’ of track surface including asphalt on the west side track. This is the area that they felt the two spray coatings of rubber surface would cover up the tire tracks and footprints in the asphalt surface. Caitlyn identified areas along the south and southwest portions of the track that were spongy and could potentially pose a safety risk for runners. B&J stated that those areas met the guidelines of ASBA Track Manual Guidelines. Photos of the area along with the ASBA guidelines have been provided their finding have not yet been verified by the district. Since B&J has not make any progress by the January 15, 2025 window, it is assumed that the work will not be completed until the spring of 2025
CES HVAC Upgrade
The project was awarded to R.D. Lawrence. A project meeting was held on February 3, 2025 to discuss logistics and moving of the contents. Henson Robinson is planning on removing the old mechanical equipment and piping in the gymnasium over spring break. This will free up some storage space for the items that must be removed from the classrooms. The exterior work is scheduled to begin the week of March 3, 2025 and will extend into May 2025. The project will be completed in two phases. Phase 1 will be putting in the Geo Thermal well field west of the building and a building addition to house the new Geo Thermal Equipment. Phase two will include installing the classroom heating/cooling cassettes along with new LED lighting and ceilings.
GHS Auditorium Sound Upgrade
The project was awarded to Pearl Technologies out of Peoria Heights, Illinois. Both parties are in possession of the signed contract. A virtual pre-construction meeting was held on December 11, 2024 revealing Pearl Technologies did not include the line voltage (Division 26) portion of the project in their bid. The project specifications included the line voltage electrical portion of the work as well as the audiovisual (Division 27) portion. The contractor has the option of hiring an electrical contractor to perform the Division 27 portion of the work or forfeit their 10% bid bond and the project be rebid. Pearl Technologies has asked if the district was interested in meeting halfway on the cost for the Division 27 work. The district is seeking legal guidance on how to proceed.
Future Projects (2025)
These projects are in various stages of design and planning but each are expected to be publically bi in early 2025. The information from each of these projects will be added to the agendas as progression takes place.
