Illinois College emerged victorious in a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate crew battle against Cornell College with a narrow 1-0 win, highlighted by a remarkable performance from Jake "jp8" Petrovich.

The match began with Lucas Schultz facing Twoman's Sonic. Schultz managed to take one stock before being three-stocked. Julian Luaders stepped up next, eliminating Twoman's remaining stocks but was soon defeated by MC's Terry. Daniel Scott leveled the playing field by finishing MC and claiming three stocks before being outplayed by Arjay's Yoshi.

Theo Biela managed to take one stock off of Arjay but was defeated next, leaving Illinois College in a challenging position. Petrovich then turned the tide, eradicating Arjay's final two stocks flawlessly and subsequently defeating Sharpie's Falco and Camden's Shulk. He single-handedly secured eight stocks at the cost of two, clinching the win for Illinois College.

Petrovich's exceptional gameplay was a crucial factor and could be instrumental in securing the #4 seed for Illinois College heading into the playoffs.
