Millikin emerged victorious over Illinois College at Jessica Kamp Field, utilizing a late-game surge to secure a double victory on Saturday.

In the opener, Millikin won 7-2. Illinois College struggled against Millikin's pitcher, Kelsey Bruno, managing only one hit until the seventh inning. A triple by Elysia Hand was the only hit against Bruno until the final inning, where Cambria Currie hit a triple to drive Delaney Melton home, followed by a single by Halie Williams that allowed Currie to score. Jordan Closs took the loss, allowing seven runs on eight hits in her 6 2/3 innings on the mound.

The second game saw a more competitive effort from Illinois College, as they took a 4-2 lead into the seventh inning. However, Millikin rallied to score four runs in the final inning, securing a 6-4 victory. Illinois College had initially built their lead with three runs in the second inning with RBIs coming from Melton, Currie, and Brooke Loveall. Raegan Rezba scored on an error in the fourth inning to extend their lead.

Millikin's comeback in the seventh inning sealed the game. Currie and Rezba each recorded two hits for Illinois College, with Taylor Henry allowing five runs over 6 1/3 innings.

Illinois College, now 9-11 overall, will next face Lawrence at Jessica Kamp Field to begin their Midwest Conference season. Millikin's record improved to 12-8 with this sweep.
