The Illinois College women's tennis team faced a setback in their spring season opener, succumbing to Webster University with a score of 4-2. The match took place at the Bellatti Tennis Center in Jacksonville, Illinois.
Despite taking an early lead by securing the doubles point, the Lady Blues were unable to maintain their advantage in singles play. Victories in the doubles came from Michelle Maag and Lily Ingram at the No. 2 position, and from Sabrina Ingram and Sophi Barrow at No. 3.
Webster University's team rallied during the singles matches, winning four of them and ultimately securing the win. The Lady Blues added one more point to their tally with a singles victory from Sophi Barrow at the No. 6 spot.
Looking ahead, Illinois College is set to face Greenville in their next match, scheduled for tomorrow at 4:30 p.m., also at the Bellatti Tennis Center.
