The Illinois College men's tennis team delivered a decisive victory against Westminster on Wednesday at the Robert Elder Memorial Tennis Courts, winning 7-0.
Illinois College dominated the doubles segment, securing the point by winning all three matches with a combined score of 18-2. Victories were earned by Jeff Wernsing and Glenn Conway at the No. 1 spot, Tejas Zala and Andrus Dupre at No. 2, and Grayson Dupre and Titus Ashford at No. 3.
In the singles category, all six Illinois College players triumphed in straight sets. Notably, Andrus Dupre at No. 4 and Ashford at No. 6 both achieved 6-0, 6-0 shutouts. Tejas Zala, playing at No. 1, secured a 6-0, 6-1 win, while Glenn Conway at No. 3 emerged victorious with a 6-2, 6-0 finish. Jeff Wernsing at No. 2 won with a score of 6-1, 6-1, and Grayson Dupre wrapped up the impressive team performance with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5.
The team will return to Midwest Conference play on Saturday, facing Ripon at 9:00 a.m. and Lawrence at 3:00 p.m.
