The Secretary of State’s Office and Representative McLaughlin have announced that state grants for the 2025 fiscal year have been secured for school libraries in Illinois' 52nd District. These grants aim to enhance library services for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The funding will be used for various resources, including library books, e-books, audiobooks, periodicals, multilingual materials, technology, and educational programs.

Representative McLaughlin emphasized the importance of education and available resources for student learning, stating, "The education of our children and the resources available to support their learning are of paramount importance to parents, families, and our communities. As public stewards, we all share the responsibility of being effective and efficient with taxpayer dollars. This grant reflects that shared commitment and will help continue the vital services that these school districts provide to our students."

The grants have been awarded to several school districts, including Barrington CUSD 220, Fox River Grove CCSD 3, Fremont School District 79, Mundelein CHSD 120, and Wauconda CUSD 118.
