State Representative Wayne Rosenthal has announced that $400 million in matching grants are available through the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) until June 1, 2025. These grants aim to support local transportation priorities by providing state funding for projects that align with legislative goals such as enhancing mobility, improving local assets, pursuing complete street initiatives, and increasing safety.

The program will prioritize projects based on their readiness and disadvantaged status. The evaluation will consider economic hardship, travel factors, and environmental factors. Detailed information about the application process can be found on grants.illinois.gov under CSFA 494-00-3626.

IDOT will review applications using a simplified form. After the grant period closes, finalists may be asked to provide additional information including project narratives, maps, photos, budgets, or other necessary details. However, there is no guarantee of funding.

For inquiries regarding the grant application process, questions can be directed to [email protected].
