State Representative Charlie Meier has recognized two young men for their heroic actions in saving the lives of senior residents at the Nashville senior apartments. House Resolution 342 was passed to officially honor Andy Goforth and Daven Hug.
On April 23, Goforth and Hug noticed smoke coming from the windows of the Nashville senior apartments while on their way home. After calling emergency services, they entered the building to alert and assist residents in evacuating safely. Their prompt response ensured that all residents were evacuated without harm.
Representative Meier expressed his gratitude by stating, “I’m honored to have Andy and Daven as my guests in the Speaker’s Gallery today. This Resolution is a small token of our appreciation for their life-saving actions. We should all strive to be more like Andy and Daven.”
Following the passage of the resolution, both Goforth and Hug received a standing ovation from members of the House of Representatives.
