State Representative Mike Coffey has initiated his third annual Summer Reading Program for students in the 95th District. The program encourages students to read at least eight books during their summer break, aiming to enhance critical skills that contribute to academic success.

"My Summer Reading Program is designed to challenge students to expand their imagination with the help of literature," Coffey stated. "Reading is a great tool for sharpening a variety of skills and I invite any students open to the challenge to join me in reading this summer!"

The program targets K-6th grade students, who are invited to read eight books over the summer. Those who complete the challenge and submit their forms by August 1st will be rewarded with an invitation to a pizza party and an official certificate from the Illinois House of Representatives.

Brochures about the program have been distributed across schools in the district, and submission forms are also available on Representative Coffey's website. For further details, interested parties can contact his office at 217-782-0053 or [email protected].

Representative Mike Coffey represents Illinois’ 95th House District, which includes parts of Sangamon County, including sections of Springfield and Villages of Chatham and Rochester, as well as areas within Macon and Christian Counties.
