The groundbreaking ceremony for stormwater management improvements in Wauconda was held last week at Bangs Lake. The event marked the beginning of a project aimed at enhancing the local community's infrastructure.

Republican state Representative Marty McLaughlin of Barrington Hills expressed his support for the initiative, stating, "Illinois doesn’t always spend money wisely (but) I think this is an effective use," during the ceremony at Phil’s Beach.

Representative McLaughlin emphasized his commitment to supporting grant applications from local communities for projects like these. He congratulated Mayor Jeff Sode and the Village of Wauconda on reaching this milestone.
