Illinois College Baseball has appointed Tristan Camp as an assistant coach, according to an announcement from Head Coach Jacob Waddle.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Tristan Camp to Illinois College," Waddle said. "He has experience as a player at multiple levels of collegiate athletics and has coached a wide range of student athletes. Our pitching staff benefited from his individualized approach to coaching. His combination of technology and analytics for decision making, along with a hard-nosed work ethic, will help our program tremendously. He also brings a number of connections with him from the St. Louis area, which will surely pay off on the recruiting trail."

Camp is originally from Montgomery City, Missouri, and has played and coached at several institutions. He started his college playing career at Arkansas State University before finishing his undergraduate studies at Mars Hill University. He then attended graduate school at Crown College, where he contributed to the team's UMAC Championship win and NCAA Regional appearance in 2024.

After completing his playing career, Camp was promoted to Head Assistant Coach at Crown College in July 2024. In his first season in that role, his pitching staff recorded one of the best statistical years in the program’s history by achieving the second-lowest ERA ever at Crown and ranking among the top 100 teams nationally in NCAA Division III for ERA, strikeouts per nine innings (K/9), and strikeout-to-walk ratio (K/BB).

Most recently, Camp worked over the summer with the Muskegon Clippers in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Integrated Health Sciences with a minor in Exercise and Wellness Promotion and expects to complete his master's degree in Sports Coaching and Administration this August.
