The Illinois College Esports Smash Bros team secured a decisive victory over Carthage College in NECC play on Monday, sweeping the match 2–0. The Blueboys began with consecutive 5–0 wins, achieving their second perfect series of the season and equaling an earlier sweep against Roosevelt.

Adam Byrd led the team with 11 knockouts and a 1.83 K/F ratio, which places him third all-time in career K/F ratio for the program. Teammates Julian Luaders and Jake Petrovich each recorded a 4.00 K/F ratio during the series.

The team's combined score differential was +10 across both games, reflecting strong teamwork and execution throughout the match. As they approach the final phase of the NECC regular season, Illinois College continues to demonstrate consistent improvement and performance.

"Our team is showing great growth and consistency as we head into these important matches," said coach David Seering.

The Blueboys will compete next at Show Me Your Moves, hosted by the University of Illinois in Urbana on November 15.
