The Illinois College men's swimming team secured the top spot at the Monmouth Invite, held Saturday at Pepper Natatorium in Monmouth, Illinois. The Blueboys finished with 223 points, outpacing Illinois Wesleyan, Simpson, and Monmouth, who each tied for second place with 166 points.
Key performances included Lucas Sullens winning the 200-yard individual medley in 2:03.52 and Eli Eberle claiming victory in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.95 seconds. The Blueboys also won the 400-yard freestyle relay; Sullens, John Masiliunas, Scottie Nicotra, and Eberle completed the race in 3:24.06.
Additional strong finishes came from Scottie Nicotra, who placed second in both the 200-yard IM (2:06.28) and the 100-yard freestyle (49.88), while Nathen Trachta took second place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:13.40.
The next event for Illinois College will be their home debut for the 2025-26 season as they host Monmouth at Coultas Natatorium at 1:00 p.m.
