Illinois College's Rocket League team narrowly lost to Gustavus Adolphus College in a seven-game series on October 27, with the final score 3–4. The match was part of the Midwest Esports Conference (MVEC).

Illinois College started strong, winning the first three games with scores of 2–1, 5–0, and 3–2. Gustavus Adolphus responded by winning the next four games—4–3, 3–1, 5–3, and 2–1—completing a reverse sweep to secure victory.

Lucas Barry led Illinois College with eight goals, three assists, and eight saves on 32 shots. Glenn Conway added six goals and four assists. Dwight Duijneveld contributed seven goals, two assists, and four saves.

The loss brings Illinois College’s season record to 1–5, tying them with Gustavus Adolphus in the MVEC standings. The team's chances for advancing to the MVEC Championships now depend on the outcome of Buena Vista's upcoming match against Wartburg. If Buena Vista loses that game, Illinois College will qualify as the fifth seed; if not, their season will end.

The team’s next scheduled match is against St. Ambrose University on Wednesday, October 29 at 8:30 p.m., as part of NECC competition.
