Myles Kampwerth led Illinois College Blueboys golf team in the opening round of the Highland Championship, hosted by Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. Kampwerth shot a two-under par 70, helping place the team in 11th after the first round.
Kampwerth made use of his driving distance, going three-under on par five holes and finishing with four birdies. AJ Odle contributed with a score of 75, while Emmitt Brokaw and Teddy Walbaum posted rounds of 76 and 78 respectively.
The Blueboys are scheduled to begin the final round at Highland Golf Course at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow.
