Former Illinois College swimmer Cooper Meyer has been appointed as assistant coach for the men's and women's swimming program, according to an announcement from Head Coach Chris Sykes.

"Cooper strongly admires this team, its achievements, and future potential," Sykes said. "As an athlete, he went above and beyond to make sure this team was successful. As a member of this program, he was a disciplined student-athlete and an amazing leader.  As his coach, I am very proud of his accomplishments both in the water and on the diving board, and now I am equally proud to have him join us in the role of assistant coach."

Meyer concluded his career with the Blueboys last year. He is recognized as one of the most decorated student-athletes in the program's history. Meyer earned All-Midwest Conference honors in both 1-meter and 3-meter diving during his junior and senior years. He also contributed significantly to Illinois College's undefeated regular season dual record last year. Meyer currently holds both school records for 3-meter diving.

He graduated last spring with a double major in business and sports management from Illinois College.
