Macie Petropoulos began her collegiate golf career with a score of 75, finishing three over par in the opening round of the Highland Championships held in Rock Island, Illinois. This performance places her in a tie for second place individually.
Petropoulos, a freshman from Springfield, Illinois, recorded three birdies on the back nine during her round. She leads the Illinois College Lady Blues team after the first day of competition.
Other scores for Illinois College included Shelby Seiler with an 83, Karlie Basler with an 86, and Emily Guest with an 88. The Lady Blues are currently in fifth place as a team and are ten shots behind third place going into the final round.
The concluding round is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am at Highland Golf Course in Rock Island.
